Meet the Architects of the Abyss—Our Authors

At Obsidian Skull Press, we don’t just publish stories and books—we cultivate a sanctuary for the voices that refuse to be silenced.

Our authors are the lifeblood of this press. Without their vision, their courage to descend into the shadows, and their relentless dedication to the craft, Obsidian Skull Press would be nothing more than an empty vessel. We believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that our authors are the finest storytellers working today. They are the architects of the nightmares we cherish and the visionaries behind the worlds we inhabit.

These are not just writers—they are truth-tellers. They explore the complexities of existence, provoke uncomfortable questions, and shatter conventions. We are honored to serve as the platform for their craft.

Welcome to the collective. Browse the archives, discover the minds behind the ink, and prepare to be transformed.

For over three decades, TL Hutton has served as a curator of the shadows, traversing the stygian realms of cultural dark, horror, and speculative fiction. A Mexican-Cherokee author and designer, TL stands as the macabre visionary madman behind Obsidian Skull Press, crafting haunting literary landscapes that rend the flesh of societal trauma, exposing the raw, darkened corners of the human and inhuman experience. Harboring a background in landscape architecture and graphic design fuels his unique creative and narrative process, resulting in prose that is as structurally sound as it is viscerally—if not unapologetically—unsettling. Through his lens, horror becomes a potent tool for cultural, social, and personal excavation. He is a member of the Horror Writers Association (HWA), The Professional Association of Design (AIGA), with a BA in Graphic Design (Media Arts) and currently completing his BA in Creative Writing (Focus on Fiction)—with an MFA in Creative Writing (Focus on Fiction) on the horizon. Hutton continues to build a body of work that challenges readers to confront the terrors hidden within our history and society.

TL's unapologetic examinations of social issues, Down Beside the Rails, The Other Side of God, and Blood & Rainbows, will be featured in our upcoming anthology, "No Safewords in the Wasteland: An Anthology of Unapologetic Horror," available in Fall 2026 from Obsidian Skull Press. His upcoming novel releases include "Where the Wind Cries Red," "Beneath the False Dawn of Concrete Gods: Dark Tales of the American Nightmare, " and "Aztec Espresso and BDSM of the Old Gods," coming soon to Obsidian Skull Press.

Other publications of TL's include: the "Darkeness Writhing" mythos, the 3-part series "A Man Who Followed Hell", The American Nightmare, and As the Legends Decree, the former two to be released in 2027 by Obsidian Skull Press and the latter two now availiable from Obdisian Skull Press, and "The Pale Fire and the Sipapu," a free story offered via the Obsidian Skull Press blog, Ink & Shadows.

C.P. Fletcher writes emotionally driven psychological thrillers about trauma, identity, and the parts of ourselves we fear most. She aims to tell stories that are deeply human, creating space for conversation about perspective, duality, and the individuality of the human experience. The Mirror Never Lies is her debut novel, blending dissociation, horror, and deeply intimate character relationships to explore what survival really costs and how we heal afterwards.

C.P. Fletcher's debut novel, The Mirror Never Lies, will be available in Summer 2027 from Obsidian Skull Press.

Cody Creiger's Unbind Thy Tongue, a powerful, raw exploration of oppression, faith, and the grotesque manifestation of internalized suffering, will be featured in our upcoming anthology, "No Safewords in the Wasteland: An Anthology of Unapologetic Horror," available in Fall 2026 from Obsidian Skull Press.
