Welcome to the Dark Side
Hola, Fellow Wanderer of the Twilight Realms,
You’ve just slipped a fresh slice of midnight into your inbox, and I couldn’t be more thrilled (or more appropriately, more thrilled to the point of delightful dread). Welcome to Obsidian Echoes, the only newsletter that whispers sweet nothings to your inner monster while you sip coffee that’s gone cold because (if you are anything like me) you’ve been up all night arguing with the shadows.
What’s in this black envelope?
Unearthed Tales & Teasers: Exclusive snippets from upcoming novels that are so dark, even the moon refuses to look at them. Think haunted forests, cosmic betrayals, and occasional existential crises for your houseplant.
Behind‑the‑Scenes Scribbles: My notes on why I keep a skull on my desk (it’s not for decoration—it's my “ideas‑collector”). Expect photos, marginalia, and the occasional confession that I still write on napkins.
Mischief‑Made‑Manifesto: A monthly challenge to bend reality a little—write a haiku about a cursed teapot, or rename your Wi‑Fi to “The Abyss.” Bonus points if your cat notices.
Dead‑Man’s Deals: Early‑bird discounts on e‑books, limited‑edition merch (yes, black candles with QR codes), and the occasional “buy one, get a phantom free” offer.

“If you’re not terrified, you’re not reading enough.”
— Me, probably, while staring back at the shadows staring at me.

The Mind Behind the Madness
Every story has a texture. Every world has a design. For me, TL Hutton, crafting a tale is never just about arranging words on a page; it's about building a universe. As a Mexican Cherokee artist, graphic designer, and seasoned author of dark fiction, I don't just write stories—I design them.
With over thirty-five years in the dark, horror, and speculative fiction trenches, I approach narrative with a designer's eye. I see pacing in the same way a visual artist uses negative space. I sculpt character arcs with the precision of an architect drafting a blueprint. For me, a story must look right, feel right, and have a structure that is both beautiful and terrifyingly sound.
This unique philosophy—that visual art and literary craft are two sides of the same obsidian coin—is the bedrock of Obsidian Skull Press. It’s a press built not just on a love for horror, but on a deep, foundational understanding of what makes a story resonate, haunt, and stick with you long after you’ve turned the final page.

A Quick (and Slightly Unsettling) FAQ

A Little Gift, Because You’re Worthy
To thank you for stepping through the portal, click here and claim a FREE short story titled “The American Nightmare.” A dark and twisted tale of cultural diaspora, perfect for reading in the dark—just don’t blame me if the lights flicker.
Stay curious, stay strange, and remember: The night is only as scary as you let it be.
Until the next echo rattles your dreams,

P.S. If you happen to see a raven perched on your windowsill, give it a nod. It’s probably just delivering my next manuscript.
