Assistan Editor

Born in Oklahoma City, Devon discovered his love for the written word early on, fueled by a steady diet of pulp magazines, classic horror, and speculative fiction found in local used bookstores. A proud Black Oklahoman, Devon brings a distinct cultural lens and a sharp eye for narrative tension to the Obsidian Skull Press team.

He earned his B.A. in English: Literary and Cultural Studies from the University of Oklahoma, where he focused on gothic traditions and modern speculative prose, followed by an M.A. in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College. Before joining Obsidian Skull Press, Devon cut his teeth in the literary trenches as a freelance manuscript reader and a junior copyeditor for several independent genre zines, championing underrepresented voices and boundary-pushing stories.

When he isn’t tracking down comma splices or helping authors sharpen their dark visions, Devon can usually be found hunting down rare vinyl records, perfecting his spicy chili recipe, or losing sleep over a new psychological thriller.
